Widening Participation Data and Policy Analyst
Salary from £36,647 to £44,140 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £ £47,456 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a fixed term appointment until 31 July 2021.
Working with on average 2,500 young people each year Widening Participation (WP) at LSE delivers a comprehensive programme of activity to contribute towards LSE’s commitments within the School’s Access and Participation Plan.
The Widening Participation Data and Policy Analyst provides crucial support to the WP Team, other areas of the Academic Registrar’s Division and LSE by: collating and analysing data; maintaining data-related processes; and undertaking evaluations and research activities that support the School’s work to widen participation to LSE and the HE sector as whole. The role-holder is a senior member of the WP Team and will work with senior colleagues to ensure that policies and decision-making relating to widening participation are continually evidence-informed.
Candidates should have:
- Experience of managing, manipulating and analysing large datasets using appropriate software such as Excel, Tableau, SPSS and/or Stata
- Experience of conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and evaluation for a range of programmes and projects to understand their impact and outcomes, using relevant methods and software packages, ideally within a not-for-profit/education context
- Proven ability to understand highly complex information and convey it in both written and oral form in a clear and effective manner to stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work as part of the WP team, working collaboratively with the widening participation practitioners, to effectively evaluate the activities they deliver and provide expertise in data analysis and evaluation.
