Research Officer (Postdoc) in Media and Digital Literacy Interventions
Salary from £38,313 to £46,168 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £49,614 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a fixed term appointment for 21 months (1 January 2023 – 30 September 2024)

The Research Officer (RO) will be working on the REthinking MEdia Literacy and DIgital Skills (REMEDIS) EU Chanse funded project under the direction and guidance of Dr. Ellen J. Helsper, Professor of Digital Inequalities at the Media and Communications Department. Key duties as part of this position include the research led enhancements and improvements to existing media and digital literacy intervention initiatives that aim to tackle inequalities in wellbeing (WP2); the evaluation and validation of the effectiveness of media and digital literacy intervention programmes (WP3); the development of a user-friendly evaluation and design toolkit (WP6).
Candidates should have:
· A PhD, or be working towards completion of a PhD, or have other research experience that demonstrates the capability to conduct research.
· The ability to analyse and research complex ideas, concepts or theories, and to apply appropriate methodologies for analysis of evidence.
· The ability to conduct original academic research on substantive research topics that relate to Media and Digital Literacy and Wellbeing Inequalities in this field.
· The ability to design and conduct research using quantitative methods to evaluate interventions that link Media and Digital Literacy to Wellbeing.
