Salary from ££63,370 to ££73,163 pa inclusive with potential to progress to ££80,927 pa inclusive of London allowance

The R&I Assessment & Intelligence team brings together a multi-faceted service that aims to help understand, reflect and advise on the changing internal and external expectations on LSE for its research and innovation activities. This includes the provision of research intelligence to improve LSE’s ability to respond to the external environment, strengthening research excellence and preparing for institutional exercises such as the REF assessment exercise, overseeing the management of allocated block funding and the subsequent infrastructure around the optimum use of internal funding, and engaging with senior stakeholders to support institutional decision-making.
The postholder will provide senior professional leadership for the team, ensuring that its work is coherent, well governed and translated into clear timely strategic advice, effective delivery and practical support for senior institutional decision-making and successful performance delivery against LSE ambitions and priorities.
Candidates should have:
- Senior leadership experience in a research-intensive environment, including leading institutional preparations for REF.
- Expertise in research intelligence, quantitative and qualitative analysis, evaluation and critical thinking, including the responsible use of AI, to inform senior decision-making.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and build effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong strategic planning, collaboration and change-management skills, including establishing effective governance, workplans, resource plans, risk controls and progress monitoring.
- A proven commitment to high-quality service delivery, with experience of improving integrated services, systems, processes, communications and knowledge management through innovative problem-solving.
