Research Officer in Statistics (Quantifying Uncertainty for Change Points)

 

Salary £36,647 to £44,140 pa inclusive with potential to progress to
 £47,456 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years, from 1 October 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter

 

 

Applications are invited for a Research Officer position on the research project “Was that change real? Quantifying uncertainty for change points” funded by the EPSRC. You will conduct the relevant research under the direction of Professor Piotr Fryzlewicz.

 

This EPSRC-funded project is joint between LSE and Lancaster University, who are also currently recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to work on this project under the direction of Professor Paul Fearnhead. Candidates are invited to apply for one or both posts, according to their interests. Candidates for the LSE post must have a PhD in statistics, mathematics or a related subject, or expect to have submitted their PhD thesis by the post start date. Solid background in mathematical statistics is essential. Applicants should demonstrate excellent research achievement or potential for such achievement in mathematical or computational statistics. They must be able to conduct complex simulations and real data analyses, and have advanced programming skills. Experience in change point research is desirable but not essential.
