General Service Porter
Salary from £26,216 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £26,356 pa inclusive of London allowance
The shift pattern for this role will be Monday – Friday, 10am – 6pm
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a General Services Porter. As a Porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the School. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The main duties and responsibilities of the post involves a variety of tasks from minor office moves, as well as supporting major School events such as Exams, Open Days, Graduation and Conferences. The Porters work closely with other teams across the LSE Estate; IT, Maintenance, Cleaning and Security to ensure continuity of service, which students and staff have come to expect.
If you are a responsible, reliable, and punctual individual who thrives in a team environment, this is an excellent opportunity for you. Good customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people are highly desirable qualities for this role.
Candidates should have:
- Ability to carry out general lifting (movement of furniture, parcels, and boxes, using trolleys/barrows as required).
- Be responsible, reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime when required during key periods in the academic year.
