CIVICA Open Science Project Officer

Salary from £37,197 to £44,802 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £48,168 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment until 31 Dec 2023

LSE Library is seeking a project officer to assist with the delivery of the H2020 funded project, CIVICA Research. The role will specialise in open science and contribute to the development of an ambitious open science plan for the CIVICA alliance and LSE. The post will also provide wider support for the Library Research Support Services team.

The main duties of the post include:

·         Developing a detailed understanding of open science trends including changes in scholarly communication, FAIR data, responsible metrics, citizen science etc

·         Liaising with key stakeholders at LSE and at other CIVICA institutions in the development of open science communities and support services

·         Assisting with the project planning and delivery of specific open science work packages to set timeframes

·         Providing support for related projects and work undertaken by Library Research Support Services

Candidates should have:

• Substantial experience or knowledge of scholarly communication or open science
• Experience of working in a higher education or research environment.
• Experience of project work or project management.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders including academics, PhD researchers and colleagues at all levels of seniority
