Salary from £40,229 to £48,456 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £52,095 pa inclusive of London allowance

 

 

The London School of Economics is a cosmopolitan university situated in the vibrant centre of London that specialises in the study of social sciences.

 

LSE’s Data and Technology Services division provides services to over 10,000 staff and student users.

 

This role will work with product owners and other team members to maintain business applications throughout the service life cycle ensuring continual service improvement. They will also support reporting tools and systems to enable accurate management reporting as well as the incident management of issues relating to integrations between business applications and database services.

 

This role will:

  • Offer third-line support for delivering business applications and reporting tools with a focus upon a high-quality user experience and enhancing productivity to meet business goals
  • Act as a supplier of business applications to the service lines and end-users and engage in the administration and technical support of business applications. Devolving support tasks to front line services or service lines (shift left) to improve efficiency of the service
  • Install, upgrade, manage the configuration of applications in collaboration with other colleagues
  • Perform planned maintenance tasks as determined by the maintenance roadmap
  • Contribute specialist knowledge of applications to inform the Business Application Manager in planning & resourcing decisions
  • Contribute to the smooth transitioning of applications to the operational environment as managed by the service transition process owned by Solutions and Partnering

 

Candidates will have:

  •  Evidence of a strong technical background relating to industry standard technology (Linux/Windows/MS SQL/Oracle)
  •  Strong Knowledge of Cloud computing services and providers for providing solutions
  • Advanced diagnostic skills for resolving incidents or problems relating to enterprise applications
  • Good understanding of service management processes such as incident management and problem management, including major incidents.
