Support Officer (Hardware Asset Management)

Salary from £33,558 to £38,541pa inclusive with potential to progress to £41,404 pa inclusive of London allowance

The London School of Economics is a cosmopolitan university situated in the vibrant centre of London that specialises in the study of social sciences.

LSE’s Data and Technology Services division provides services to over 10,000 staff and student users.

As Support Officer (Hardware Asset Management), you will be supporting and guiding staff across the School with all aspects of IT hardware management. Including assessing users requirements and seeking quotes for purchase, stock and asset management, issuing and configuring new IT equipment, rebuilding equipment for reassignment and IT equipment repairs.

In order to succeed in this role you must be committed to providing outstanding customer service and enjoy supporting others in solving problems in a calm and confident manner. It is essential that whilst having solid technical skills, that you are able to communicate effectively and with empathy across a user base with differing levels of IT proficiency.  

In this small dynamic team, members have the opportunity to contribute to service improvement in all aspects of the service line and will be encouraged to develop skills to innovate and exceed current service levels.

Candidates should have:

·       Experience of configuring and managing desktop operating systems including Windows and Mac OS

·       Experience of using systems management software such as Intune or JAMF

·       Experience configuring and troubleshooting Computer networks and WiFi on devices

·       Experience of configuring mobile devices and peripherals

·       Experience of managing mobile computing and latest standards of mobile phone such as IOS and Android
