Staff Counsellor
Salary from £53,949 to £62,160 (pro rata) pa inclusive with potential to progress to £69,073 pa inclusive of London allowance.
This is a part time position at 0.6 FTE (21 hours a week)
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the foremost social science universities in the world, with a global reach and an international community of staff and students. The LSE Student Wellbeing Service (SWS) includes LSE’s in-house Staff Counselling Service and the Student Counselling Service. We are recruiting a Staff Counsellor in this busy, friendly, and well-respected multi-disciplinary Counselling Service.
We are seeking candidates who can bring expertise to the role, working independently to manage a caseload of LSE staff clients whilst being an engaged team member. Candidates will have significant experience of providing short-term counselling in a Higher Education Institution, workplace counselling, or similar environment. Candidates will be skilled in working with a range of clients from diverse backgrounds and a variety of presenting issues, both work-related and personal.
Candidates must hold BACP Accreditation, UKCP Registration, or equivalent registration with HPC/ BABCP/ BPS/ BPC as a Counsellor/ Psychotherapist/ Counselling Psychologist. Applicants who do not meet the requirements for professional accreditation/registration will not be considered for this post. Please note that candidates with BACP Membership (as opposed to BACP Accreditation) cannot be considered for this role.
The postholder must be able work on: Monday, Thursday and Friday. Thursday and one other day must be on campus.
This position will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Any offer of employment made is conditional on receipt of a satisfactory DBS check.
