Graduate Intern: Communications and Events Project Coordinator

 

Salary £32,890 (pro rata) pa inclusive of London allowance

 

 

This is a full time, fixed term appointment for 2 months and 26 days

This position is open to LSE graduates within the past 24 months, both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Applicants must have fully graduated with all course requirements complete.

The Department of Government is seeking a Communications and Events Project Coordinator to support a project. This exciting opportunity involves supporting the Communications and Events Manager with the planning, organisation and delivery of a portfolio of high-profile events celebrating LSE’s 130-year anniversary. As part of this anniversary, the Department is celebrating politics both past and present, inviting leading academics and politicians to contribute to world-leading insight and reflection in a series of public events.

 

This internship is ideal for a recent graduate with a passion for politics and a desire to gain hands-on experience in event management and communications. The successful candidate will learn how to organise and deliver impactful public events, and how to develop successful promotional campaigns across digital platforms. The post-holder will also attend all events and hear thought-provoking discussions on contemporary political issues.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, organisation and delivery of a portfolio of public events, including a high-profile 10 years of Brexit anniversary event.
  • Assist in marketing and promoting the events, including by email, on the website, and across social media.
  • Coordinate the integration of our alumni network in high-profile events, including organising a drinks reception event.
  • Document project progress and coordinate with the Communications and Events Manager to ensure project milestones are met and develop ways of gathering post-event feedback.

  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and convey information in a clear and accurate manner   
  •  Experience of interacting effectively with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally 
  •  Ability to work to deadlines and to prioritise multiple tasks whilst maintaining attention to detail
