Communications and Events Officer

 

Salary: £33,558 - £38,541 per annum inclusive, with potential to progress to £41,404 per annum inclusive of London Allowance

 

This is a fixed-term appointment for 18 months, with any extension subject to available funding.

 

The Department of Methodology at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in social science research methodology. The department coordinates and provides a focus for methodological activities at the School.

 

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a fixed term of 18 months to join our dynamic and friendly professional services team. The post holder will take the lead on internal and external departmental-focused communications, ensuring that key messages are disseminated effectively to a range of audiences. They will develop, implement, maintain, and update the department’s communications strategy and develop the department’s external web presence via social media, the website and the departmental blog.

 

The post holder will also take the lead role in managing, coordinating, attending, and publicising the department’s events programme, including research seminars, staff events, conferences, and public events. They will act as the first point of contact within the department for the above areas and will be expected to take a proactive approach to monitor the latest web and social media technologies to keep the department’s communications relevant and up to date, create a new and specific brand identity and increase the visibility of the Department of Methodology in research and academic engagement.
