The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning and research in the world, with 18 Nobel prize winners among our alumni and staff.

In November 2021, we launched the public phase of Shaping the World, our major £350 million philanthropy and engagement Campaign to underpin LSE’s strategic goals and help shape the world for good. With 85 per cent of our Campaign goal raised so far, there is huge momentum building as we advance the public phase.

The Philanthropy and Global Engagement Division serves, engages and works in partnership with alumni and friends, staff and students, volunteers, donors, global partners, organisations and the wider community to further the strategic aims of the School. These reciprocal relationships increase engagement with LSE across the world and increase philanthropic income and strategic partnerships for agreed School priorities.

We are seeking a Communications Manager, on a one-year fixed appointment to cover maternity leave. This is a senior role within the PAGE Communications team, responsible for planning, developing and delivering an outstanding programme of mass communications to LSE’s alumni, friends and partner audiences to drive engagement, facilitate and strengthen relationships, and deepen our understanding of their needs and interests.

We would love to meet candidates who can show:

  • Extensive experience of developing and managing content and cross channel communications to drive engagement and/or philanthropy, as well as wider organisational strategic aims, employing appropriate audience segment.
  • Experience of supporting colleagues in optimally utilising content and communications platforms to engage audiences in programmes and activities.
  •  Exceptional team management skills including coaching, mentoring and motivating staff in delivery of responsibilities.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
