Planning Officer (Surveys)

Salary from £43,277 to £51,714 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a maternity cover post, fixed-term for 12 months with an expected start date in December 2026

The London School of Economics and Political Science is one of the foremost social science universities in the world. The Planning Division is integral in supporting and monitoring the School’s progress towards achieving its strategic objectives. The Planning Officer (Surveys) supports a range of tasks undertaken across the School, primarily relating to the analysis and dissemination of student survey data to inform strategic decision-making.

This is a 12-month fixed-term position. Interviews are expected to take place in early October 2026, with a preferred start date in December 2026. Existing LSE staff are welcome to apply as a secondment opportunity; line manager approval confirming that you can be released from your current duties will be required before the appointment can be confirmed.

Candidates should have:

• The ability to produce robust analysis of quantitative and qualitative survey results, identifying ongoing patterns and key areas for improvement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to produce and present written reports and verbal updates that communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• The ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, to collaborate with colleagues from different service areas and academic departments, and with differing skill sets, to achieve overarching goals.
• Excellent general IT skills including the use of key Microsoft products.
