Events Officer
 
Salary from £32,960 to £37,705 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £40,432 pa inclusive of London allowance

 
This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years with potential to extend subject to funding 

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the Events Officer will be responsible for organising, managing and executing the Data Science Institute’s busy events programme. They will liaise with speakers and academics on event content and arrangements, and lead the administration of events, including managing a budget and updating the team.

The successful candidate will have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, excellent organisational, recording keeping and IT skills. Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately to a wide variety of people. They need the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with contacts outside the immediate team and to make autonomous decisions regarding own work, exercising initiative in selecting a best course of action from available options. They need to be able to work to deadlines and to prioritise multiple tasks whilst maintaining accuracy. Experience of organising events is essential, with experience of a higher education environment desirable.
