Research Officer (Climate Political Economy - AdJUST)

 

Salary from £39,313 pa inclusive to £47,148 with potential to progress to £50,614 pa inclusive

 

This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years

 

The Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment and the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP) at LSE are pleased to invite applications to the above post, a postdoctoral research position at the level of Research Officer. The post holder will work as part of a team for the project ‘Advancing the understanding of challenges, policy options and measures to achieve a Just EU Energy Transition: AdJUST” (Horizon Europe).

 

The appointee will be based at the Grantham Research Institute, working closely with Dr Marion Dumas (Grantham Research Institute), Dr Fergus Green (UCL) and Dr Jared Finnegan (UCL) on understanding the determinants of institutional capacity for a just and timely energy transition, and on the preferences and strategies of unions.

 

Candidates are expected to have, or be about to complete, a PhD in Political Science or a related field. Relevant research interests include state/institutional capacity or industrial relations and/or research interests in climate policy and its politics, political economy and/or administration. Candidates will have excellent skills in qualitative methods. Experience with mixed-methods (associating quantitative and qualitative evidence) is a plus. Candidate must have excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate complex ideas and technical issues to a range of different non-technical audiences.
