PhD Programme Manager

 

Salary from £32,960 to £37,705 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £40,432 pa inclusive of London allowance (pro rata)

 

This is a part time role for 24.5 hours per week

 

The Department of International Development is seeking a committed and motivated administrator to support the work of staff and students involved with its PhD programme. The Department is involved in a range of diverse activities and is an interesting and collaborative workplace.

 

You will be working in a small and friendly administrative team taking particular responsibility for the management of the PhD programme. Your duties will include proactively managing the administration of research degree programmes in the Department of International Development from admission to graduation, delivering a high level of customer service and developing a first class experience to research students.

 

You will also provide an interface between research students and the Doctoral Programme Directors, Departmental Research Committee and central School departments, and act as first point of reference for all research degree queries

 

You must have experience of working in an administrative role, preferably in Higher Education and some experience of managing postgraduate programmes. Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to communicate effectively and confidentially with staff and graduate students at all levels are essential as is an ability to work with limited supervision and to use one’s own initiative.
