LSE Fellow in Environment
Salary from £39,313 to £47,148 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £50,614 pa inclusive
This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for two years, renewable by a further one year subject to funding.
The Department of Geography and Environment is seeking a full-time LSE Fellow in Environment. The successful candidate will join one of the world’s leading geography and environment departments, which enjoys very strong international student demand across a wide range of graduate and undergraduate programmes.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team teaching on the department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes on environmental geography and policy, as well as developing their own research agenda. The successful candidate will work with colleagues in the Environment Research Cluster as well as with colleagues in human geography across the department. They will have the opportunity to participate in, and contribute to, a vibrant intellectual community and collaborate with colleagues in the Department and across the School. The successful candidate will also carry out administrative duties, whilst fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Candidates should have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in environmental social sciences/geography, broadly defined. We are especially interested in candidates with a theoretical and empirical research agenda in environmental geography including intersections with: environmental politics and justice, political ecology, environment & development, black ecologies, and/or environmental science & public policy. Relevant teaching experience, the ability to work in close partnership with fellow teachers, and excellent communication and presentation skills, are also essential.
