Behavioural Research Lab Manager
Salary from £40,229 to £48,456 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £52,095 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years.
The Department of Management is seeking to hire a Manager for our Behavioural Lab for Teaching and Research Lab (BL). The BL Manager will facilitate experiments conducted in the lab from researchers across LSE and in collaboration with externals. Apart from consulting on research projects, being responsible of the participant pool and overseeing adoption of standard procedures and policies, this job also involves working interdivisional, running marketing campaigns and organising talks and workshops. As BL aspires to serve as a global leader in facilitation of world-class behavioural research and research-led teaching, a significant part of this role is to actively seek and lead on income generation initiatives such as external research grant applications and consulting projects.
This job involves working closely with other departments to support and stimulate the vibrant behavioural research community at LSE. You will be responsible for ensuring all the equipment is up to date and in working order. You will also be dealing with day-to-day queries about the BL, providing guided tours, and updating the website for all BL information.
The successful candidate will be educated to PhD or MSc degree level in Behavioural Science, Psychology, Economics, or similar degree with equivalent experience with lab-based research and will be experienced in conducting qualitative and quantitative research projects and experiments. You will have excellent communication and proven organisation skills in order to plan, prioritise and facilitate BL experiments. You will also have experience in Biometric research (e.g. eye tracking, virtual reality, GSR, facial expression analysis). Proven track record of grant writing and income generation is essential to this job. You should have the ability to work with limited supervision and use your own initiative.
