Events and Communications Officer
Salary from £36,513 to £41,565 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £44,468 pa inclusive of London allowance
The Department of Social Policy is a dynamic, innovative department located at the heart of the School. It is home to around 400 students and 30 faculty. It is the highest-ranked Social Policy Department in the UK for teaching and research and incorporates several internationally renowned research units.
The Department is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic professional to join its professional services team. The successful candidate will provide key operational support in the organisation and delivery of the Department’s large and diverse portfolio of events, as well as playing a central role in supporting its digital communication channels and coordinating student-facing communications.
Applicants must have:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, or significant relevant work experience, preferably in a communications role in higher education.
- Knowledge of social media trends and best practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including grammatical accuracy and the ability to adapt content and style to a specific audience.
- The ability to work effectively with limited supervision.
- Proven commitment to an ethos of continuous improvement.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
