The Lab seeks to appoint an experienced senior policy fellow to contribute to its research and engagement programmes focused on enabling the just transition through finance.

The primary responsibilities of this role are to deliver high quality research to strengthen the Lab’s knowledge foundations in just transition finance and identify how the Lab’s activities can contribute to the transformation of the financial system to support a just transition. Working in key geographies such as the UK and the European Union, the role will support the development of solutions for financing a just transition through rigorous research and policy-oriented analyses. The role also includes stakeholder engagement, managing networks and participating in strategic initiatives within the Lab and broader institutional frameworks.

The candidate should have a master’s or equivalent experience in a just transition-related field such as environment and climate change, sustainable development, social justice, human rights, responsible business, finance and economics. Ideally, the candidate will also have experience in sustainable finance and just transition policy working with senior decision-makers in the private, public and/or third sectors, for example, in banking, investment and capital markets.

The candidate should have a strong background in conducting high-quality, user-oriented analysis on policy fields such as just transition, climate change, sustainable development, and sustainable finance, utilising qualitative and quantitative methods to produce policy- and practice-relevant research.

The role will require experience in research oversight and quality review as well as project management and expertise in managing stakeholder relationships and networks.

The candidate should have excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex sustainability issues to financial audiences. Experience of managing external partnerships and fundraising, including grant applications.
