Policy Officer
Salary from £40,229 to £48,456 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £52,095
pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a fixed term appointment until 31 October 2024 with potential for extension, subject to funding.
The African Health Observatory Platform on Health Systems and Policies (AHOP) is a collaborative partnership to support and promote the transfer of evidence and experience between countries to foster better policies and action for improved health and wellbeing. Hosted by the WHO Regional Office for Africa (WHO AFRO), AHOP leverages existing national and regional collaborations to form a network of National Centres focused on the generation and exchange of knowledge and evidence for health systems and policy development in the African region.
The Policy Officer will play a central role in supporting AHOP’s policy brief and policy dialogue work based in the LSE AHOP hub. They will be expected to coordinate and conduct rigorous analysis in collaboration with research and academic staff, write up research and policy relevant outputs and work with the LSE AHOP project team and regional partners on policy dialogue delivery.
Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in health policy or related topic, experience of writing policy relevant outputs including policy briefs and blogs as well as experience of planning project outputs to a policy audience. The ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills with audiences of all levels and be able to effectively interact with funders and partners.
